Custom Sketch or Painting
An original piece of custom artwork made by me, special for you! You have 3 options. Please read this whole entry BEFORE purchasing.
- Ink Sketch – Custom black and white ink drawing. 6″ x 8″ image on 8″ x 10″ acid free heavy paper.
- Watercolor and Ink Sketch – Custom ink and watercolor drawing. 6″ x 8″ image on 8″ x 10″ acid free watercolor paper.
- Acrylic Painting – Custom 8″ x 10″ acrylic painting on stretched canvas.
What is this?
It’s an original piece of custom artwork made by me, specifically for you. You tell me what you’d like me to sketch or paint for you and I do it.
How’s that work?
Add it to the cart, checkout, and then send a followup email at impsandmonsters@gmail.com – Include a description of what you’d like. If it will include a person or pet please include photos. Also, if there is another painting I’ve done that you like the style or colors of, then mention that.
So you’ll draw or paint anything I ask?
Uh… no. Nothing sexual, sacrilegious, political or racist, and no cussing. I’d prefer to avoid politics as well. Also, I refuse to paint Angry Birds. For real. If you have asked for something I won’t do, I’ll just refund your money. I reserve the right to refuse any commission. Also, keep in mind that this is not a large piece and only so much detail or subjects can be included.
Will it look just like the picture if I send you one?
Nope. I’ll paint whatever it is in my style. If you like my style then you’ll probably like your commission. If you are looking for realism then you have somehow stumbled upon my website by mistake.
How long does it take?
Commission turnaround time is usually 2 – 3 weeks, give or take. If you need it for a specific event or date you can include that info, but no guarantees.

Copyright info on commissions are still owned by Justin Hillgrove. You will own that piece of art, but not the right to turn it into shirts or prints. If you’d like to purchase those rights just inquire in the same email.
Why do commissions cost more?
Commissions require a bit more research and stress. Also, they are generally personal in nature so I don’t get the added income generated by print sales. My time is valuable to me 🙂
If I don’t like my commission can I return it?
I hope everyone LOVES their custom pieces! I will not refund a commission that has been completed. Sorry.
