Pen and marker drawing. ©2013 Justin Hillgrove. Sketch-a-day #84 is a true story of sorts.
When I was in Kindergarten I was terrified of the two tiny but ferocious dogs that belonged to my neighbor. As I walked home from the bus stop each day, the two miniature demon hounds would charge at me barking and growling. Normally I would just run past as fast as I could, but one day I was unable to skirt around them. I retreated to the top of a tall, rotten stump in the brush on the side of the road. There I sat crying for about an hour until my mom (who apparently had been out of her mind with worry, calling the school and such) found me and carried me home.
That traumatic event mixed with seven separate incidents of being bitten by dogs has instilled within me a certain wariness around canines. 😛
